Manager of Perinatal and Maternal Health Policy -Mass Health

MassHealth is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Manager, Perinatal and Maternal Health Policy. The Manager, Perinatal and Maternal Health Policy will play an instrumental role in ensuring successful implementation of the MassHealth Doula Services Program with a specific focus on doula community and stakeholder engagement. The Manager, Perinatal and Maternal Health Policy will also support MassHealth to achieve its overarching perinatal and maternal health strategic vision and mission to improve the health outcomes of our diverse pregnant and birthing members and their infants by providing equitable access to high quality health care services and supports.

Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive): 

  • Conduct outreach and serve as a liaison between MassHealth and the doula community (including prospective MassHealth doulas and current MassHealth doulas) related to the MassHealth Doula Services Program, including providing hands-on support to doulas in navigating the MassHealth Doula Services Program.

  • Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to the Senior Manager, Perinatal and Maternal Health Policy as well as members of the MassHealth Parent, Child, and Family Policy team and other teams as appropriate to ensure successful implementation of the MassHealth Doula Services Program, including escalating issues or questions that arise in liaising with the doula community and other stakeholders, such as the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH).

  • Support the Senior Manager, Perinatal and Maternal Health Policy with additional perinatal and maternal health initiatives as needed.

 

Preferred Qualifications:                   

  • Three or more years of experience working as a practicing doula and/or working with doulas in some capacity, including familiarity with the landscape of doula care in Massachusetts

  • Commitment to health equity and improving perinatal and maternal health

  • Native or bilingual proficiency in Spanish

  • Strong communication and organizational skills, professionalism, and attention to detail

  • Ability to maintain strong working relationships with diverse stakeholder groups

  • Three or more years working in a health care, public health, or Medicaid setting preferred

  • Three or more years of experience working on maternal and perinatal health projects or policy preferred
