There are many ways to act as a mentor to aspiring IBCLCs!

As advocates for the profession, the Massachusetts Lactation Consultant Association recognizes that we urgently need to increase access to mentorship opportunities for aspiring IBCLCs. In particular, we recognize that we must build mentorship programs that support members of under-represented communities to join our field.

Mentoring can include so many different supportive roles: participating in informational interviews about the IBCLC profession, leading study groups, offering pathway guidance, sharing resources including BIPOC resources, allowing students to shadow you, acting as a co-mentor, serving as a chief mentor…and more!

Already a mentor? May we add you to our directory of mentors?

Thank you for mentoring the next generation of lactation consultants! In what capacity are you serving as a mentor? May we add you to our mentor directory so that aspiring IBCLCs can find you and so that colleague mentors can reach out for collaboration and support? Are you able to serve additional mentees at this time?
