The More Things Change...

The more things change… politics, techniques… the more things stay the same... responding to baby, frequent feeding. It’s helpful to have good colleagues to navigate varied concerns. Why do policies differ in places? What does the research say? How do you manage a specific lactation concern? This is the value of being in a wider network of colleagues. It helps us to guide the families and to promote positive breastfeeding policies. Since it’s inception, MLCA has been an organization that educates IBCLCS, breastfeeding advocates, health care professionals, legislators (and their legislative aides) and others. Let’s keep discussing what is happening in Massachusetts that supports the health of families. Our member meeting will focus on projects for the future. We have some good ideas and your participation will be helpful.Saturday October 19, 2019  at the Beverly Public Library  10:00 a.m.- 12 noon.  If you can’t make a meeting though want to be included, send an email to MLCA at info@masslca.This upcoming October meeting will be my last as a Board member. Because I no longer live in Massachusetts. I’ve resigned as President of MLCA. Stepping into that role, with a sure foot, is our President-Elect, Kira Kim, BA, IBCLC. She is, and has been, a valuable contributor to MLCA. I’ve appreciated working with Kira, especially her listening skills as well as her talent for organization and communication. She will be good at steering MLCA.Of course, there is the November 2 'It's Complicated' conference coming up. It's a great opportunity to discuss four important topics with each other. I plan to be there and hope you will be, too.
