I have been a childcare provider since 2002. My experience includes caring for newborns, multiples, special needs and children of various ages. Being an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, I have extensive knowledge and expertise with breastfeeding, sleep and feeding schedules. With a Bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University in Human Services and a concentration in Family and Children’s Services, I am able to gently guide and support new parents as they transition home with their newborn. My approach promotes healthy newborn sleep routines and enables families to create a schedule that best meets their needs while also feeling reassured with the love and care their newborn is receiving.
I have an active role in my community through volunteering within the maternal and child health sector. I help provide guidance to families regarding their newborn’s needs and I mentor peers who have interests in maternal and child health. Currently, I peer counsel at the Vital Village Network, a network of residents and organizations committed to maximizing child, family and community well- being. I am the Treasurer of the Massachusetts Lactation Consultant Association, an active member of the Boston Breastfeeding Coalition, MA Breastfeeding Coalition and DONA International, the world’s largest and most respected doula organization.

Early in my career, as a Learning Specialist and then as Director of Special Education, in public and private schools, I realized educating and supporting children and their parents was more than enjoyable for me. It was my great interest, even a calling.
My first child taught me the challenges of parenting. That experience led me to my next career step, helping new families as a postpartum doula. I earned my certification through DONA (Doulas of North America) and have worked as a postpartum doula since 2005.
In my work I noticed many new mother’s struggling with breastfeeding. Since breastfeeding is a natural process I believed most women, if helped, could breastfeed. I became a lactation consultant by earning my IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) credential.
In my role as lactation consultant I give non-judgmental support to families in the comfort of their own home. I’m sure we can work together to achieve your breastfeeding goals.
I am a member and volunteer for the Boston Association of Childbirth Educators(BACE). I’m also a volunteer breastfeeding counselor for the Nursing Mother’s Council (NMC).
I look forward to working with you!

Breastfeeding and breastmilk continue to fascinate me to date. Studies continue to offer us new information about the unique ability of protecting moms and babies. It is an incredible dynamic experience that encompasses anatomy, chemistry, sociology, psychology and physiology. Moms and babies have the instinct to breastfeed, it is biological. Sometimes this instinct/passion is blurred, and mothers may feel lost, confused or frustrated at any point of their journey. There can be barriers to overcome when it comes to breastfeeding. Such barriers could be tongue tie, food allergy, low milk supply, oversupply, medical issues (thyroid, diabetes, PCOS), back to work, bottle refusal, just to name a few! These make your experience unique to you and your baby. I bring 30 years of experience to formulating a plan that works with your family. I believe that any mother would benefit from meeting with a lactation consultant.

Like many new moms, I knew very little about breastfeeding before having a child of my own. I faced early feeding challenges, and felt empowered by the lactation consultants who educated and guided me along my breastfeeding journey. As soon as my baby and I found our breastfeeding rhythm I knew I wanted to pay forward the knowledge and support I had received.
I graduated from UC San Diego’s Lactation Consult Program, earning my clinical hours at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, and am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). After several years in San Francisco, my family relocated to the Boston area, where I grew up.
I am now the proud mom to two wonderful children. With one child, I surpassed the original breastfeeding ideals I had envisioned for my family pre-delivery. With the other child I redefined our feeding plan several times as we faced unanticipated struggles. While the feeding experiences differed greatly, they were both filled with love, nourishment, nurturing, empowerment, and lots and lots of snuggles.
I look forward to working with you to reach your breastfeeding goals, with compassion and evidence-based information catered to your individual needs. We will continue reevaluating our plan while we unfold what best suits you and your family, and how that may evolve over time. It is an honor to be a part of your story. We are in this together!

I see the awesome power and messy grace of birthing and parenting. I have been supporting birthing and new families since 2002 and these years have taught me that there are a million ways of "getting it right." My job is to dispel myths, explain options, validate, and honor each person's choices.
My "birthy" career began when I took a childbirth class and found the content fascinating but the delivery flat. I knew I could do it better and soon I got the "nudge" to make big life changes in the aftermath of 9/11. While my loved ones and I were safe that day - I was just off maternity leave and back to a job with an office a few blocks from the World Trade Center - I felt a calling to dedicate to something more "meaningful." I got certified and began teaching birth preparation classes and LOVED it. Since then, I have added Hypnobirthing, birth doula, yoga teacher and finally the crown jewel of IBCLC.

I’m Margo and I am an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant). I live in Brookline, Massachusetts. I serve the greater Boston area along with providing virtual consults anywhere in the world. I have three children, born in 2016, 2019 and August 2023. Both older ones breastfed for over 2 years. I also volunteer as a La Leche League Leader.
I chose the name “Mama Milk” because that is what my older son calls it, he will say “I want some mama milk”. Breastfeeding has given us an incredible bond. Soon after he was born I started going to a local support group. I also spent many an hour searching the internet for different issues that came up. I found the world of lactation so fascinating and I loved talking with other moms in the support group. I feel so fortunate that I was able to get support when I needed it and yet we have such a long way to go in the world to make sure that everyone has that opportunity. I support all babies and breastfeeding parents regardless of gender expression, sexual orientation, immigration status, race or ethnicity. I’m looking forward to helping you and your baby in your breastfeeding journey!

I began my nursing career as a Registered Nurse at Cambridge Health Alliance, specializing in Pediatric & Maternal Child/Postpartum care, where I was drawn to supporting new moms and babies. Recognizing the vulnerability of this period and the challenges it brings, I was motivated to be part of their journey through childbirth, breastfeeding, and sleepless nights.
Even with all my experience as a nurse on the mother-baby unit, I faced difficulties with breastfeeding when I had my own children. This inspired me to ensure other mothers received better lactation support than I did.
My opportunity to directly care for families in the community came as a visiting nurse for VNA Care Network, where I focused on postpartum and breastfeeding support. I later transitioned to Salmon VNA where I provided case management for families in the MetroWest area. This included following postpartum mothers and infants for several visits communicating with all their providers and making referrals until their medical needs were met. This was especially important for these families to have breastfeeding and infant feeding difficulties solved while staying safe during pandemic times.
I strongly believe that breastfeeding is a fundamental right for all families, regardless of background. My mission is to empower and support families in their breastfeeding journey by offering compassionate, evidence-based holistic care tailored to their individual needs.
When I'm not helping families with lactation care and support, you can find me hanging out with my two teenagers, ages 19 and 16 and my husband who are my biggest fans in Hopkinton, MA. In my free time, I enjoy walking, doing yoga, hiking, singing, seeing friends and hanging out my two tuxedo cats.
