MLCA Member IBCLCs Serving Central Massachusetts
I have been a childcare provider since 2002. My experience includes caring for newborns, multiples, special needs and children of various ages. Being an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, I have extensive knowledge and expertise with breastfeeding, sleep and feeding schedules. With a Bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University in Human Services and a concentration in Family and Children’s Services, I am able to gently guide and support new parents as they transition home with their newborn. My approach promotes healthy newborn sleep routines and enables families to create a schedule that best meets their needs while also feeling reassured with the love and care their newborn is receiving.
I have an active role in my community through volunteering within the maternal and child health sector. I help provide guidance to families regarding their newborn’s needs and I mentor peers who have interests in maternal and child health. Currently, I peer counsel at the Vital Village Network, a network of residents and organizations committed to maximizing child, family and community well- being. I am the Treasurer of the Massachusetts Lactation Consultant Association, an active member of the Boston Breastfeeding Coalition, MA Breastfeeding Coalition and DONA International, the world’s largest and most respected doula organization.

At the heart of my practice, I want to help you meet your feeding goals, whether that's with 100% human milk or including some formula and bottles or exclusive pumping or exclusive formula-feeding. I love supporting families as they learn new skills and techniques related to feeding and soothing their babies as well as in efforts to make more milk and find pumping more comfortable, efficient and effective (usually smaller flanges, honestly). In order to support my families with the most updated information and techniques as possible, I enjoy incorporating the skills I have learned in infant oral assessment, pre- and post-frenectomy activities, Rhythmic Movement Training, TummyTime Method, flange fitting and advanced skills I've learned through many hours of continuing education. I offer feeding consultations in my cozy office in Northborough as well as virtually. My office has a comfortable couch, as well as a sink inside and we can try various positions and tools. I like to do pumping sessions and flange fittings with all of my clients who want that support. I also offer two different support groups for pregnant and nursing/pumping/chestfeeding parents (see my website, babiesincommon.com for more info on those). I also offer professional education, specifically about pumping and feeding gear (information on that is also on my website, babiesincommon.com).

Lo Nigrosh(she/her) is a mom of 2, an IBCLC, a childbirth educator and a doula who has been helping families feed their babies in the ways that feel best for them for years. She came to this work through her own intense struggle to feed her first child in 2013, and knew immediately that this would be her life's work. When you work with Lo, you will combine your expertise of your family's needs, your own body, and what you've learned about your baby in the days, weeks and months that you've been getting to know one another with her expertise of hormones, milk supply, and physiology of the human body to come up with a feeding plan that will bring more ease and less anxiety to feeding your baby. Lo is also the host of the podcast The Milk Making Minutes which explores baby feeding struggles and triumphs through the lens of systemic and cultural barriers.
I offer a support group periodically at the Athol Public Library in coordination with the baby and toddler story hour. I also host a podcast called The Milk Making Minutes which explores breastfeeding struggles and triumphs through the lens of systemic barriers and I have an online community on Facebook called The Milk Making Minutes which discusses similar themes.

Breastfeeding and breastmilk continue to fascinate me to date. Studies continue to offer us new information about the unique ability of protecting moms and babies. It is an incredible dynamic experience that encompasses anatomy, chemistry, sociology, psychology and physiology. Moms and babies have the instinct to breastfeed, it is biological. Sometimes this instinct/passion is blurred, and mothers may feel lost, confused or frustrated at any point of their journey. There can be barriers to overcome when it comes to breastfeeding. Such barriers could be tongue tie, food allergy, low milk supply, oversupply, medical issues (thyroid, diabetes, PCOS), back to work, bottle refusal, just to name a few! These make your experience unique to you and your baby. I bring 30 years of experience to formulating a plan that works with your family. I believe that any mother would benefit from meeting with a lactation consultant.
