Professional Summary
Maire (pronounced Maura) has been supporting breastfeeding families for more than 20 years. Prior to certifying as an IBCLC in 2011 she served as a volunteer breastfeeding counselor. Through this training and years of practice since, Maire has assisted families facing a wide range of breastfeeding/chestfeeding challenges. Maire is committed to providing evidence based, judgement free lactation care, tailored to the needs and goals of each nursing family. She views empowering new parents as essential to her role as a lactation consultant.
Consultations are typically 90 minutes allowing time to assist with feeding and other lactation concerns. A written Care Plan reviewing strategies and resources is provided after each visit. An infant scale is available to assess milk intake. Weekend appts. are available.
Maire’s practice, New Family Nurture Lactation Care, is inclusive of all families, including those exclusively pumping, supplementing with donor milk or formula and those inducing or relactating. Maire is committed to providing culturally responsive, trauma informed and LGBTQ+ friendly care.
